How to find the best vape pen battery packs

Thread Types

So when it comes to the various battery types you have a few thread types to deal with. eGo and 510 are some of the main thread types used on various vaporizers.

Now eGo’s can accept two of the most widely used threads like the eGo and 510 units because the  eGo thread is a 510 thread. So all 510 threads will fit perfectly.

This lets you put any type of eGo or 510 device onto an eGo battery and visa versa. But, you can NOT put all eGo devices into 510 batteries. In some cases you can screw on a eGo to a 510 unit but it doesn’t always work. Often it is battery is way underpowered to deliver the wats to the unit that are needed. Now you can find 510 to eGo adapters but it is generally for Mods or devices that can handle an eGo clearomizer.

There are also several other threading standards, like the 601 type of thread that is primarily used by the Atmos vaporizer pens. This is a disadvantage since those products are not cross-compatible with the majority of products on the market. Now the 601 thread Pocket Rocket Pro is compatible with Atmos and other 601 thread products,  buying these types of batteries and atomizers can place you in a proprietary eco-system with these products. Now most will not recommend that you go to this thread, but if you want to venture into the 601 thread products, there is an equal or better 510/eGo thread counterpart to every such item.

Now if you decide to purchase a  battery and atomizer that arent packaged together be sure you have an atomizer that will fit the thread of your battery. This will save you a lot of frustration. It is recommended by most vape pros that purchasing a 510/eGo thread device will get you maximum compatibility.

Battery Size and Manufacturer

Most mods only fit the size of battery that is was intended to use and pro vapers strongly recommended to use only the size that has been specified for your device. In some cases you can stack smaller batteries to fit in a device. But doing this "battery stacking" should be avoided as stacking batteries increases the batteries voltage causing the batteries or the device to fail.

Make sure to be using a battery from a reputable manufacturer, this will ensures your battery will operate safely and as designed within its rated specifications.

Types of Vape Batteries

When it comes to the type of vape batteries you can find you have a few choices. You can find  several lithium batteries on the market today. The three main types are ICR (LiCoO2 or LiCd) , IMR (LiMn) , and Hybrid.

It has been said by the vapeing pros that the IMR batteries use safer chemistry build out than ICR's making them a lot safer then the others. This is the reason that ICR's are commonly sold with protection circuits.

The normal IMR battery can lack protection circuits and will allow higher amps and discharge rates compared to ICR's, making them much more suitable for low resistance builds or mechanical devices.

Now the ICR's usually are rated for a higher storage capacity (mAh) and normally unable to safely deliver the amperage needed for high power and low resistance.

Now with the newer hybrid devices, they can often utilize a “safer”  build out chemistry than your IMR battery,  while maintaining most of the storage capacity of an IMR.

What ever battery voltage/amperage you choose make sure it is compatible with your mod or device.

We hope this helps you in your journey in finding a batter pack for your vaporizer that works to its peak efficiently and has good durability. You can use our Contact us page for help if you need it.
